Bahrain is small enough that reputations travel fast. If an agent is taking money for fake visas in Manama, someone in Riffa usually hears about it by Tuesday. That is the real value here. Bahrain WhatsApp groups are not just for finding a bed space or a driver job, though they do that too. They are basically an early warning system for South Asian workers. Someone will post about the latest LMRA rule change long before it hits the local news. And then you get the daily churn of expat life. A hospital nurse looking for sharing accommodation in Busaiteen. Someone asking how long CPR renewal is actually taking right now. Construction supervisors sharing leads on upcoming projects. It is very localized. If you just arrived, look for groups where people actually answer questions instead of just dropping link after link. Any post offering a direct entry visa for an upfront fee is a scam. That has always been true and it still is.
